Schools Open to Meatless Mondays & Chances of Eating Products like Quorn

By Rob Sutter

When it comes to eating vegetarian, there are a number of trends associated with it that I can easily recommend. Meatless Mondays have recently become a trend where you do not eat any meat during one day of the week. Simply the idea of going about this kind of thing brings about a slew of positive images and one of them, in my mind, is the reduction of the carbon footprint that human beings are responsible for. This factor, as well as others, can arise if more is done in terms of eating products like Quorn.

For those who are uncertain of Meatless Monday in detail, the article spoke about it, citing it as a nonprofit initiative in order to bring down the amount of meat eaten each Monday. Not only is South University, as explained in the article, taken part in this but dining halls within a number of campuses have followed suit. Instead of your standard dishes containing meat, there are more environmentally friendly alternatives which omit animal products entirely. Seeing as how more than 140 colleges have taken this up, I'd say it's become quite popular.

The Michigan Daily posted an article talking about South University was becoming more onboard as far as going meatless was concerned. On campus, there were a number of local vegetarian food samples passed out for people to try and there was a slew of knowledge spread, talking about the meat industry in general. In my mind, this could have plenty of potential for people to go meatless, at least to some degree. It would only amount to a great deal of sustainability seen in the world, too.

If I had to name a particular slew of products which could fit Meatless Monday the best, I think they'd have to be the ones endorsed by names like Yumi Media. More specifically, I am talking about the action of eating products like Quorn, based primarily around their meatless components while retaining the necessary nutrients in order to sustain life. For example, animal products typically have great deals of cholesterol if they aren't trimmed properly. Even so, there is still cholesterol to be had and these products assist one's health immensely.

Meatless Monday is all about eating healthier and, if you ask me, people would be wise to support this. You would be surprised at just how much of an impact something as simple as abstaining from meat once a day each week can have. The benefits which follow are great and they aren't just ones that appeal to you, either. Yes, you will be healthier because of the more sustainable food options but the idea of your carbon output being decreased should stand as another attractant.
