Tea Pods Offer Flavor Options

By Dolores Harrison

Sometimes a person just wants to have a cup of their favorite hot beverage without going through the hassle of making a whole pot that will end up being wasted. This is why manufactures got creative and came up with the perfect solution to this problem. It is now possible to make just one cup of piping hot drink using tea pods.

It was previously difficult to enjoy just a cup of brewed drink because the rest of the pot would just end up being wasted. This was like simply washing money and good product straight down the drain. Some innovative coffee thinkers designed machines that held small packets containing just enough grounds to make one mug and this was the step that changed the hot beverage industry.

Seeing how much coffee drinkers flocked to this new opportunity and how successful the idea was, manufacturers naturally branched out to the next logical step of introducing like products for tea lovers. It is not only more economical, but more convenient to be able to make one cup at a time without wasting anything. There are more advantages to be had from choosing this method.

This is perhaps the quickest method to making hot beverages there is. Simply pop one of the sealed packets into the brewer, fill with water, push a button and in approximately thirty seconds a steamy cup of gourmet tea is ready for the taking. The pods are securely sealed in a way that keeps the leaves fresh until ready for use with no worry of trying out and losing potency.

As always, there are still a few downsides to this new technology. The most common complaint is that each manufacturer tends to use their own design of pod which may not be compatible with the machines of their competitors. This can be frustrating to consumers, so some companies have released adapters that make it possible to brew one's choice of tea in almost any brand's processor.

Most any flavor, type and blend is available in this format from the staple black, reds, green and Earl Greys to the more specialized tastes and herbal favorites like Darjeeling and Chai. Purchasing a box of individual packets also tends to cost a little more than a comparable package of regular bag. Many people find that the taste, improved convenience, easy use and quick clean up are all worth the little extra they spend.

Though not yet available in all retail outlets, the teas are quickly growing in popularity. Currently, they are most readily found in health food shops and specialty supermarkets with a few mainstream grocery store chains thrown in. But there is no need to worry because most any flavor desired can easily be ordered from an online vendor.

This is one of the most widely consumed beverages so making it convenient for folks to get a single cup when they desire it was a great step forward. There are tea pods available in all the popular flavors. It is always a good idea to make sure a company offers one's preferred flavors before purchasing a machine.
